Associate – Financial Services Advisory – Banking

@Orchard LLC has been retained by a top tier advisory firm in their effort to grow their Financial Services Solutions Practice to meet the needs driven by tremendous client demand. Advisory services is the fastest growing unit company-wide, and we are looking for individuals with strong experience in the banking industry to join the team at the Associate level.

In this group, the scope of projects spans across Core Banking, Lending and Payments, so prior experience in at least one of these areas is required. Individuals in this group should have experience with transformation activities related to some of the following: systems implementations related to money management and banking, migrations to the cloud, mortgage lending, automobile lending, credit cards, foreclosures, digital payment transfers, wire transfers, treasury or cash management activities.

As an Associate in Financial Services Solutions your responsibilities would include:

  • Participating in large-scale banking initiatives focused on delivering strategic, operational, technical, and/or product development changes associated with new business and technology strategies
  • Supporting delivery of payments related business models and end-to-end process re-design; assessing the current state across business and IT, identifying key pain points, developing recommendations aligned to industry leading benchmarks, defining a target state operating model, and developing high level conceptual and detailed design
  • Developing and building project knowledge across areas including scope definition, business case development, financial analysis and modelling, requirements gathering, functional and technical design, vendor assessment, testing, training, and implementation phases
  • Assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables, reports, and findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner
  • Developing relationships with client personnel, serving as a liaison between clients and upper management, and helping identify opportunities to provide additional services

Your background should include the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of consulting experience at a recognized firm and/or retail/commercial deposits institution
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Previous payments business experience and knowledge of retail and/or commercial payments including card services, merchant processing, eCommerce, clearing and settlement, and fraud
  • Knowledge of core banking, lending and lending processes is preferred
  • Strong understanding of project management and implementation/development methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project with excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Travel may be up to 80-100% – will be determined for post-COVID activities
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
