Responsibilities:
- Performs inspection of production parts, components, subassemblies, and completed units.
- Sets up and uses a variety of standard and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, scales, micrometers, surface plates, thread gages, dial bore, and dial snap gages, dial indicators, and height gages, radius gages, profilometers, Brinell, and RC hardness testers.
- Operates machines in assigned departments are required such as shot blast, wet saws, cut-testers.
- Accepts or rejects inspected work in accordance with established procedures and prepares, executes, and maintains various inspection records, forms, reports, and record files as required.
- Ensures the proper care and maintenance of inspection equipment.
- Ability to work with lightweight material continuously, average weight material frequently, utilizes a variety of material handling equipment in handling average or heavyweight materials.
- Ability to read and interpret fairly complicated and detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, operation sheets, process sheets, work instructions, etc. to inspect work.
- Works under general supervision, receiving assistance from higher classified employees when warranted.
- Performs general clean-up work as required and other plant duties as assigned. Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience/Skills Required:
- High School Degree, GED equivalent with 1+ yrs of experience performing inspection of production parts, components, subassemblies, and completed units. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience and proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, scales, micrometers, surface plates, thread gages, dial bore, and dial snap gages, dial indicators and height gages, radius gages, profilometers, Brinell, and RC hardness testers.
