Senior DevOps Engineer with Top Secret Clearance

As a team member, you will have the opportunity to closely support their mission partners, and your work will have a direct impact on mission imperatives.  In this role, you’ll work closely with other software developers as well our infrastructure and cybersecurity teams leveraging open-source tools to create and maintain a diverse range of applications.

The team is a multi-faceted software development and systems administration team working to build and maintain software applications backed by a self-managed cloud infrastructure with a true big-data footprint (over 10 petabytes). The team’s diverse background of experience in mission support and software development serves as a catalyst to solve unique and challenging intelligence problems in support of special operations analysts and their on-going activities. Prototyping and frequent, iterative feedback are core to their delivery approach, anchored by a need to work quickly in support of missions.

Your Core Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining multiple DevOps pipelines
  • Implementing CD & CI solutions to support rapid development and integration
  • Integrating static code analysis and other security mechanisms into pipeline
  • Designing and applying hybrid deployment strategy (cloud and local virtualized)
  • Working with software and system engineers to apply automated test and documentation processes
  • Troubleshooting and resolving network, automation pipelines, and infrastructure issues
  • Building, maintaining, and monitoring configuration management of release products
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Must have a current/active TS with SCI eligibility and ability and willingness to obtain CI polygraph.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related discipline
  • Requires 7 or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience with source configuration management tools such as Git
  • Experience administering automated build environments such as Jenkins or Hudson
  • CI & CD development experience with technologies like Bash, Jenkins, or GitLab
  • Experience with automated deployment technologies such as Cloud Formation, Ansible, Puppet or Chef
  • Open source application deployments and maintenance experience
  • Custom source application deployments and maintenance experience
  • AWS-based cloud deployment experience
  • Basic LINUX system administration experience (RedHat and/or CentOS)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Must be able to and willing to work onsite in Herndon, VA
Desired Skills: 
  • Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access
  • Experience with distributed processing methods and tools, such as REST APIs, microservices, IaaS/PaaS services
  • Experience developing and deploying web services
  • Experience supporting software in a production environment
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, web services and SQL databases
