The Senior Software Engineer will have the following responsibilities;

  • Working as a Full-Stack Software Engineer within a Gov DevSecOps environment, providing software engineering services to support quarterly deployments of the software baseline — new capabilities, adaptive maintenance, and hardware recapitalization.
  • Ensuring the complexity of the systems and the criticality of the mission for Tasking is managed by applying a systematic, engineering approach to the design.
  • Determining operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Documenting and demonstrating solutions by flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Developing software solutions by studying information needs; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas.
  • Tailoring and deploying software tools, processes and metrics as needed. Providing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
  • Automating tasks through appropriate tools and scripting. Developing architectures that are inherently secure, robust, scalable, modular, and API-centric.
  • Providing software design recommendations to the program manager and Chief Software Engineer.
  • Coordinating software development activities within product lines.
  • Ensuring product line software development follows industry and SEI best practices.
  • Assisting the Product Line Program Manager in establishing and tracking software metrics.
  • Reporting software risks to the Chief Systems Engineer and the Chief Software Engineer.
  • Ensuring software is documented and brought under Configuration Management.

Your background will include the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying microservices into cloud environments.
  • In-depth capabilities using software development tools to estimate functions points, estimate complexity, develop virtual machines, cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated experience taking software deployments through the entire deployment cycle within a Federal environment.
  • Proven capabilities in designing, maintaining, and recapitalizing IT systems.
  • Experience in refactoring, containerization, and hosting applications in a LINUX platform and infrastructure as a service environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with MBSE, processes, tools, and languages.
